Face Painting Fun!

Phew! What a weekend! I'm exhausted!
However I did have a fun weekend despite the fact I didn't get to have a costume party!  Instead I helped out at a fall festival and was in charge of the face painting booth! It was so much fun!
Check out my fabulous artwork!

Originally I planned on putting on some fairy wings and costume to match the face paint...but then a cold front came through! Thanks to my furry vest I was able to keep warm!
Of course I had to paint Sami's face to match (Sami is the 3 yr old I nanny! Isn't she cute??)
My silly husband decided to drive all the way to the festival in his mask! I'm surprised we didn't get pulled over! I think he was supposed to be a dead pirate. I terrified the poor little kids!
Sami attempting to try on Justin's mask!

And here is a pic of my face painting on the way to the event before it got all smudged!

I wish I could have gotten more photos of the Festival, but I was stuck behind a booth all night, so this is all I have to show you!

Happy Halloween!!

I love a good masked costume party! Unfortunately, this year I was unable to host one like I wanted to!  :(  I just had to many other things going on. But at least I did have to have a Girl's Night earlier this year where we got to dress up as fairytale characters! It was so much fun! See the pictures here!
So I will just live through these fabulous masked photos this year!

What will you be doing this Halloween? Going to a costume party? Hanging out with friends?
So what are you dressing up as this year? Would love to see photos of your costume if you want to leave me a link!

As for me....I think I will just chill on the couch and watch a few good scary movies! I do love a good scare! Especially zombie movies! Call me crazy, but I even try to get my husband to watch them with me on date nights! (I realize I'm not normal and probably slightly insane!)  To be honest, I have had so much going on lately I will be thoroughly chilling in front of a scary movie while waiting for little goblins to come knocking on my door!

Have a Happy Halloween!

If all goes well I will be moving into my new house in 3 weeks!  I need to get my tush moving!

Fur Fabulous Wishes

Ok...so I've been craving a furry hat for months now. You know...like the solid furry ones the Russians wear? I think they are so very winter glamorous! Of course, it needs to be faux fur!  My only problem now is that it still isn't even cold enough to really wear boots here! *agggggh* How ridiculous would I look wearing fur in Texas?  You know what? I really don't care! As soon as a cold front comes through you are going to see me in fur!

A Beautiful Beginning!

Today is a beautiful beginning to a new week!
We heard back from the sellers after putting a bid on our very first home and...
THEY ACCEPTED!!
I'm so excited, because I have been dying for our 1st home! I am so TIRED of renting! Now I can go as crazy as my heart desires with decorating!

The photos on this board are laid out similar to the house we are getting. Each photo represents the style I want to achieve for that room. I'll start at top left:

Master Bath: Bamboo contemporary
Master Bedroom: Bamboo/Indonesian Inspired
Nursery: Cinderella/French Provincial (Blue/Champagne Gold)
Guest Bedroom: Old Hollywood Glam (Purple/Silver)
Living Room: White/Rustic Elements (Little more tropical flair than this photo)
Entry: Undecided
Kitchen: White Traditional with green accents
Dining: West Indies Tropical Dining
Study: Global - A mix of West Indies/British India Decor

Do you think a home's style should flow throughout the entire house, or do you like a new surprise in each room? I'm concerned about the Purple Glam room being to far off from everything else. Maybe I should go with something more natural in the guest bedroom. What are your thoughts?

Dedication: Peacock Perfection

In honor of my older sister's birthday this Saturday I decided to dedicate a post to her.  I thought..."what inspires her?". The first thing that came to mind were jeweled tones & peacock feathers! She loves to decorate with them.  So in honor of her I put together an interesting assortment of photographs all centered around a peacock feather theme! Enjoy!

I wish I had photos of her Christmas tree! It is all decked out in purple, teal, feathers and all!

Can I just say this beverage dispenser pic is making me want a peacock themed party!

The perfect peacock theme color palette...

I could easily see this piece in Christie's home! This chair is fantastic for any glamorous teal theme!
 Gorgeous floral arrangement!

Hope you have a fabulously beautiful birthday, Christie!

Simply Irresistible Gwen

I was super excited when I got my Instyle this month and saw Gwen Stefani on the cover! I have always loved her glamorous Old Hollywood look.  Her hair and makeup are stunning in this editorial! Take a look!

She tells Instyle she uses L'Oreal and does her roots as often as Marilyn Monroe did. (She seriously found out how often M.M. did hers!)

I am in love with this sequined silk gown by Diane von Furstenberg!

Beaming Bright!

My husband and I just put our very first offer on a house last night! I'm super nervous and excited. There is so much anticipation while waiting to see what they come back with.
The home we chose has these gorgeous wooden beams in the living room that add character. So I've been browsing inspirational pics on how to decorate!

For those of you who haven't noticed, I love white interiors. I find myself extremely drawn to this style of white interiors, clean contemporary lines, and rustic/natural elements.

I think I prefer when the beams are left natural rather than painted white like in this photo.
I love the stone flooring in this room!
I think either the room above or below is my favorite design wise...

These last two are gorgeous upscale versions of beamed ceilings!

What do you think about this look? Do you love wooden beams?
